Anecdote
Legend has it that lemon mousse was the signature recipe of a famous French pastry chef named Madame Lemoine in the early 20th century. Madame Lemoine was known for her exquisite desserts, and her lemon mousse was particularly beloved by her distinguished clientele. The anecdote goes that every time she prepared this mousse, the enchanting aroma of lemon would waft through her pastry shop, attracting passersby who couldn’t resist the urge to come in and taste this divine treat. The recipe was then passed down through generations, becoming a timeless classic of French cuisine.
If you’re a fan of lemon, I highly recommend trying the classic lemon pie, or indulging in the tangy zest of confit lemons, which I love to toss into my salads. They also pair wonderfully with fish dishes!
And if you have a sweet tooth for lemon candies, I highly recommend trying the delightful ones from The French Candy. They are simply irresistible!
